Dragon Fruit Banana Smoothie

Born in a South-East Asian country (Malaysia), I am proud to say that I have a special place for tropical fruits in my heart. Most of the fruits here are so juicy and refreshing, how can you not love them?

Today, I will be sharing with you one of my favourite smoothie – Dragon Fruit Banana Smoothie, which consists of dragon fruits, banana, pineapple and coconut water.Or since this smoothie are made using tropical fruits, I shall call it Tropical Smoothie! It sounded fancier that way isn’t? To be honest, as much as I love this combination of smoothie, but I get a little annoyed when the colour from the dragon fruit stains my hand, and sometimes even on my clothes. I remembered one funny incident where one little boy who peed in red colour causing a shock to my friend, thinking that he had some kind of problem with his kidney. She instantly called his mother and ask what happened, and to our relief that it was due to the colouring of the dragon fruit. Well, aside from its colour, it is extremely delicious!

Right right, let’s get back to this main topic. Do you know that every single fruit in this glass of smoothie contains a different kind of nutrient which is needed by your body every day? For instance, Dragon food is rich in vitamin C, B1, B2 and B3, and minerals such as iron, calcium, and phosphorus. Also, it also rich in fibre which can assist with the poor digestive system and constipation.

As a college student, we used to focus on studies and busy with coursework, this can possibly lead to the lack of vitamin in our daily consumption. So, I’m here to introduce this nutrient-rich smoothie to fill the need of various kind of vitamin and fibre in our busy college lives.

  • 2 Dragon Fruits
  • 2 regular Banana
  • 1 cup pineapple
  • 2 cup Coconut water

Basically, there is only a step which is mix & blends these ingredients with a blender to serve this smoothie immediately. This smoothie taste is really refreshing with the natural sweetener- banana and the pineapple aftertaste. Highly recommend to you to make one for yourself 🙂
