Detox water – Berry Blast

Students who are still studying in a college or university have to attend classes from Monday to Friday, with an estimate of 8 hours per day. With such tight and busy schedules between lectures and tutorial classes to attend tends to forget to drink water. (A tip for you students is to draw measurements on your tumbler or bottle water setting the time to remind yourself to drink a sufficient amount of water at that particular time or set a reminder on your phone!).  Or some of you who just purely dislikes drinking plain water due to it being tasteless and prefer drinking something sweet, which is extremely unhealthy for your body if consume too much.

So personally, I like starting my day off with a detoxifying fruit water because whilst it still maintains the essence of the mineral water of cleansing my system. In addition, it also adds a flavour to my drinking water as it is infused with the fruits of my choice, it increases the nutrients of the water as the fruit was soaked in the water overnight. In this recipe, I have assembled one of the best detox – Berry Blast which contains anti-aging properties and helps flush toxins from my body. Anyway, here is how I prepare them.

Ingredients per serving :

  • 1/2 cups of blueberries
  • 4 strawberries, halved, with stems removed
  • 4-5 fresh of mint leaves
  • 2 slices of lime
  • filtered / sparkling water

It is extremely simple to create this drink as the only thing that you need to do is to soak all these fruits in the water overnight (how simple is that?!) or you can even try using sparkling water to enhance the flavor of the berries. By having this glass of detox water, you can gain a numerous type of nutrients. Strawberries help fight carcinogens and contain anti-aging properties while blueberries can help to lower the total amount of cholesterol in the blood and decrease the risk of heart disease.

I strongly recommend for you to try this drink as it is so tasty and healthy. Or if you dislike berries, you can absolutely alternate this with any fruits of your choice (of course not any local fruits like Durians etc lol), adding some chia seed will make this drink perfect! And students like you will no longer forget or dislike drinking water anymore 🙂
